Chocolate Crunch Cookies and Cream Protein Shake

This article contains links with a discount applied for you and a small commission for me. Thank you for supporting my small business and women supporting women. <3

If we have to eat all this protein, may as well make it taste like dessert once in a while!

To be honest, I am not the biggest cookies and cream girlie, but I AM into texture in a shake and I DO love me some chocolate. If we want sustainability AND results, we need meals that actually TASTE GOOD! Am I right? Otherwise, bland chicken breast (and our "diets") will get old REAL quick!

When Equip Foods launched their cookies and cream flavor, I just KNEW I had to make a new shake with that chocolate chip and cookie crunch that we all crave! The cacao nibs pack a punch of fiber and give the exact texture and mouth feel of chocolate chips. Cacao is rich in antioxidants and magnesium, supporting heart health, brain function, mood, and healthy stress response—all things midlife bodies seriously appreciate. It also helps regulate the stress response and cortisol levels! AMAZING! Who knew REAL chocolate was actually a health food! Embrace it!

Chocolate Crunch Cookies and Cream Protein Shake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Orgain Unsweetened Vanilla Protein Almond Milk (or regular unsweet almond milk, but note that total protein will be lower)

  • 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1 scoop Equip Prime Cookies and Cream Protein powder (code B4ANDAFTER to save!)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3-4 ice cubes

  • 6 Simple Mills Chocolate Brownie Sweet Thins

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cacao nibs (for added crunch and fiber!)

  • dash of sea salt

  • optional: dairy or coconut whipped cream for garnish (not included in nutrition info)

Directions

Directions should always be short and to the point.

  1. Load your blender in the order listed but leave out the cookies and cacao nibs for now.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Open blender and add 1 tbsp cacao nibs and 5 of the chocolate cookies

  4. Pulse the blender a few times. You want to retain the crunchy texture of the cookies and nibs

  5. Optional: Garnish with some whipped cream and 1 whole cookie for a lil' extra treat. *pictured with mini chocolate chips to dress it up. These are not needed!
